How the money works

Where the euro comes from, what a poll is worth, and why we pay per answer instead of per completed questionnaire.

Every app that offers to pay you owes you this page. Here is where the money comes from, what an answer is worth, and what has to be true before any of it reaches your account.

Who pays, and for what

Companies want to know what people think before they spend a budget finding out the hard way. That has always been bought: panels, street interviews, pop-ups that eat a page you were reading. What they are buying is an answer from a real person who fits a description.

We sell the same thing, with two differences. The question arrives where you already are, in the messenger you use for your own conversations. And you are paid for the answer itself, not for surviving a questionnaire.

Why per answer, and not per survey

The panel model pays on completion. You start a twenty-minute survey, answer eight minutes of qualifying questions, and get screened out with nothing. The time was real. The payment was conditional.

Paying per answer removes the condition. A poll is one question with a handful of options. You answer it in a tap, it is worth up to 50 cents, and that amount is yours the moment you send it. Nothing to finish, nothing to qualify for afterwards.

It also puts a hard limit on us. A question that takes thirty seconds cannot cost you thirty minutes, which means we cannot quietly grow the questionnaire the way panels do.

What you keep

Your balance grows with each answer. From five euros you can request a payout in the app. The link to collect it appears in your wallet. You confirm the payout with your email and choose a route that is available in your country.

What we need from you, and what we do not

We need a phone number, because it is what keeps one person from being twenty. We need to know that Textly is the app your messages arrive in, because that is the arrangement.

We do not need your name, an account, or anything about the content of your messages. When you take money out, the payout provider confirms the payout with an email address. So we ask for one at that point and for that purpose. The app cannot read them in a way that reaches us: the intelligence runs on the phone, and there is no server of ours that holds message content. An answer you send is an answer. It is not a window into the conversation it arrived in.

The part that is still being built

The earning side of Textly is not live yet. This page describes how it is designed to work, and the terms that govern it will be published before it ships rather than after. If any of the numbers above change before then, they change here too.

If you want the version with the legal edges on it, the [privacy policy](../privacy) is the document that commits us to the part about your messages.

Textly brings WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack and Android SMS into one inbox, and sorts it on your device rather than ours.
